What does Valley View Bible Church believe?
We believe that Christians must be in accord with God’s word, the Bible. While we do not require that members subscribe to a formal creed, we ask that all who accept and hold leadership and teaching positions respect the following guidelines:
-The Bible is the final authority for all Christian faith and practice.
-God is Creator, Lord and Father of all. He is eternally existent, the sustainer of life, and active in human affairs.
-God works in the world today through the Holy Spirit and reveals Himself to humankind through His son, Jesus Christ.
-Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humankind. He was conceived and anointed by the Holy Spirit. He lived a life of perfect obedience and, although sinless and full deity, fully shared our humanity.
-His death revealed the Father’s love and grace, and reconciles us to the Father. He was resurrected from the grave and ascended to Heaven. There, at God’s right hand, he intercedes for His people.
Jesus Christ, endued with deity, name, power, and judgment, will return to the earth, raise the dead, judge all people, and establish God’s kingdom.
-The church, a community of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, is called to worship God, preach the good news of God’s grace, and encourage growth in the Christian walk.
-Open to all, communion celebrates salvation for those who have experienced the love and grace of God.
-Baptism by immersion expresses faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and show obedience to His command. |

Will I fit in at VVBC?
-We are a trans-denominational church. Our members come from a variety of denominational backgrounds yet share a common heritage with all followers of Christ.
-We provide the opportunity to encounter God through creative and meaningful communications and to respond to Him through a variety of worship expressions appropriate to the occasion. We celebrate in a contemporary style that includes relevant forms of music styles designed to reach our culture.
-Our dress code is causual. This is not a description of how we view our relationship with God nor how we view God. It is rather an intentional statement of how we view others. We would never want to exclude anyone from our worship because of their clothing, so we dress to make everyone feel welcome. |

When did VVBC begin?
We started in 1965 with a small group of believers meeting in the old chapel of Phoenix Christian High School and then Grimshaw Mortuary's chapel. With continued growth the members stepped out in faith and purchased an acre of land at 17th Street and Highland Avenue. There they built their first building. Then in 1981, the Lord opened up the opprotunity to "swap" facilities with the Lincoln Drive Bible Church. That move brought about new growth that has brought us to our current building program that will develop our entire 8 acre property. Future plans include a new Fellowship Hall, Classrooms and playground areas. |
